It comes round quicker every year, sneaks up on you, and when you notice it’s nearly upon you, panics you into thinking of what to get your Dad to show him you love him. CAT Vinson boots are built and styled to embody the spirit of the rugged outdoorsman. The CAT Liv Calf Boots are made out of high quality supple oiled nubuck leather, and are lined with a hounds tooth check twill material. The calf cuff is split to include an elasticated panel to allow a comfortable fit around the leg.
The boot is manufactured to a very high quality with precise and robust stitching details, a fixed mid calf back strap, tarnished branded studs and a rather fetching heel strap.

A fantastic womens premium leather boot from Caterpillar's Rugged Equipment Collection; a superb balance between design and function. Made from full grain tumbled leather uppers, lined with a synthetic wicking material, and a padded ankle cuff made from beige/brown tweed.
The tongue is lightly padded and made from soft suede. Brass D-ring lacing hardware coupled with the rugged, deep cleated "walking machine" outsole make this an ideal boot for being out and about this Winter. The outsole is oil resistant.

Dr Martens has launched a 100% Vegan alternative to its range of classic styles. Available in Cherry Red or Black, the Vegan range comprises the 1460 8-eyelet boot and the 1461 3-eyelet shoe.

For now, lets look at what Dr Marten has done with these;
The number 1 feature of these is that they are NOT made from leather. The uppers are made from a synthetic material called Felix Rub Off, a Vegan-friendly, non-leather, synthetic material, which is soft and supple, and has a subtle two-tone finish.

The sole unit is the original Dr. Martens air-cushioned sole, which provides underfoot comfort and durability, and has done since 1960. It is oil and fat-resistant, tough and offers good abrasion and slip resistance.
These are a Goodyear-welted product. The upper and sole are sewn together, not merely glued, like many footwear constructions. This, together with the Z welt-stitch and heat-sealing process, makes it a unique feature of Dr. Martens footwear.

The Legend Of Dr Martens
The year was 1945 and Dr Klaus Märtens, a German military doctor, was not a happy man. He had injured his foot while skiing and found that his uncomfortable army boots were a hindrance to his recovery. He took matters into his own hands and set about designing a new boot to help with his rehabilitation. The result was an orthopaedic boot with supple leather and air cushioned soles. Mens footwear would never be the same.
Märtens had a friend who knew about the mens footwear industry called Dr Funck, who saw the boots’ potential and so helped to manufacture them for the German market. They were an instant success and soon came to the attention of the English mens footwear company R. Griggs & Co, who quickly bought the rights to market them in the UK.
Being 1959, Griggs knew that the boots would only be well received if the German attributes were removed. Therefore, Dr. Märtens became Dr. Martens, the heel was re-shaped and the 16 holes were reduced to eight; the modern day ‘AirWair’ DM’s were born.
The boots were officially launched in the UK on 1st April 1960. They proved to be the most popular mens footwear of the working classes as they were incredibly robust. By the late 1960s, skinheads started wearing them, equally delighted by their robustness. DMs have gone on to become the must-have ‘bovver boots’ of choice for every generation of sub-culture, from mods to grungers.
